Come join The Kitchen Sisters (Davia Nelson and Nikki Silva) in conversation with Academy Award-winning actor Frances McDormand live at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Thursday night, September 15 to celebrate the recent acquisition by the Library of The Kitchen Sisters entire 40 year archive — some 7,000 hours of interviews, oral histories, songs and field recordings along with photographs, notebooks, journals, shards of sound and research materials. A night of little-known stories from the B Side of History.

This a FREE event, but tickets are required.

This special “Live at the Library!” evening is presented by the Librarian of Congress, Carla Hayden.

Nelson, Silva and McDormand will be onstage at the Library’s Coolidge Auditorium to play stories, tell stories, go behind-the-scenes into their archive, contemplate their careers and wide-ranging collaborations, their work as audio documentarians and pioneering radio and podcast producers and take questions from the audience.

NOTE: This event will be recorded but NOT live-streamed. The recording will be available soon after.
