Claudia Ocello from Museum Partners Consulting wrote to tell us about a woman on a mission to preserve school history.
Marion Bolden, former Superintendent of Newark Public Schools, (NJ) upon retirement founded the Newark Public Schools Historical Preservation Committee to keep school personnel and NPS graduates from discarding their history. She has saved ledgers, murals, board meeting minutes, old technology, doorknobs, class photos, programs, medals, and other materials from dumpsters.
